Sandra Elliott Obituary

Sandra Sue Elliott, 84, formerly of Princeton, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, IN.  Sandra was born in the White Church Community near Princeton, July 5, 1940 to Clarence “Joe” and Martha (Hunt) Elliott.

Sandra was a 1958 graduate of Princeton High School. She had worked for the Carpentersville School System in Elgin, IL. as a cook and as a school bus driver for the Mt. Carmel School District.  After she moved back to Princeton she worked at Kmart and the Marathon Gas Station. Sandra had attended the Fairhaven Church in Cynthiana. She enjoyed reading, and crossword, jigsaw, and word search puzzles. Sandra enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and baking cakes, cookies and other things.  She loved her cats and spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons, Harold Koonce (Shirley) of Evansville, Bobby Koonce (Janne) of Princeton, and Walter Frost (Laura) of Evansville; grandchildren, Kenneth and Martin Alvis, John, Vivian and Zachary Garrett, Stephen and Sarah Wallace; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Douglas of Princeton and Mary Parks (Mark) of Yuma, AZ, Donna (Don) White of Haubstadt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Koonce; sister, Linda Wright; and brothers, Harold and Robert Elliott.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday October 14, 2024 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Mike Douglas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Columbia White Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson County Animal Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
