Sandy was an amazing cook and, even more so, baker. Animals and people alike were always offered something to eat as she did not want anyone to be hungry. She enjoyed being a part of Phi Beta Psi, a service sorority focused on supporting cancer research. A member of the National Hot Rod Association, she had a 1929 Ford pickup that she liked taking to car shows. One of her favorite events was the Evansville Frog Follies.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Belinda Wallbank (Tom) of Zionsville; son Jeffrey Erdell (Tela) of Newburgh; her grandchildren; sister, Pamela Baldwin of Grayville, IL; and brother, William “Bill” Gendren of Princeton and step-sons Ted Vaughn and Tim Vaughn. Formerly married to John H. Erdell who was one of her many friends. Sandy was known to be especially kind and gentle and never complained about life’s challenges. For the last few years, she resided at Rittenhouse Village Assisted Living in Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Vaughn in 2001; and brother, Robert “Bob” Gendren in 2012.
