Shirley June (Winingear) Baker, 75, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 2, 1950 in Princeton to the late Lee and Lois (Hart) Winingear and married Michael D. Baker on May 21, 1966. They were blessed with 51 years together before his passing in 2017. Shirley enjoyed making crafts especially making wreaths, snowmen, Santa Clause, and sleds in which would sell out fast at the Christmas Craft Shows in Fort Branch. She loved her grandkids, especially Kasey who was her world, and great grandkids.
Shirley is survived by her 3 children, Michael R. Baker of Patoka, Michele King of Princeton, and Kenda K. Cummings (Jarrod) of Maryville, Tennessee; son-in-law, Chad King of Princeton; 2 grandchildren, Joshua Baker and Kasey Kennard (Jon); 2 great grandchildren, Eli Kennard and Presley Kennard; siblings, Jean Price, Betty Wise, Mary Paul, and Cindy Knuckles; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Pat Higginbotham, Murle Rodeman, and Tom Winingear; and her beloved dog, Peanut.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Mindy Winingear for helping with Shirley’s care.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at Decker Cemetery, rural Patoka with interment to follow.
