Shirley Ann Dougan, 85, of Princeton and formerly of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at The Waters of Princeton. She was born March 9, 1935 in Princeton to the late Carvel W. Houghland and Mary Thelma (Wilson) Houghland. Shirley was a graduate of Oakland City High School, class of 1953, and was a homemaker who loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included crafts. She had attended the Oakland City Church of the Nazarene.
Shirley is survived by a son, Michael Dougan (Peggy) of Princeton and a daughter, Mary White (Patrick) of Fort Branch; 12 grandchildren, Shelby Sparcacino, Rachael Slunder, Stephanie Hogan, Ally Keehn, Joshua White, Matthew White, Jarod White, Dale Mallory, Casey Campbell, Melissa Mallory, Mark Mallory and Catrina Thorton; also, 23 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dougan, October 8, 2004; a son, Bobby Dougan; and a daughter, Lynda Armstrong.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 1, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Darin D. Nossett officiating. Interment will follow at Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 pm Friday at Colvin Funeral Home. Due to state mandated Covid-19 regulations, there is a maximum of 25 people allowed inside the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required.
