Shirley Ruth (Eggers) Hunt

Shirley Ruth Hunt, 78 of Spurgeon passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home in Spurgeon. She was born May 2, 1942 in Dickenson County, Virginia to the late James Eggers and Hazel (Bennett) Eggers. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jerry Hunt; siblings, Ruby Yates (Don), Betty Sue Rose, Alice Robinette (Wade), Jim Eggers (Margaret), Dan Eggers (Darlene), Kathy Turner Rose (Archy Ennis), and Connie Cress (Jerry Turner); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Jennifer Hunt and Tammy Hunt; and sisters, Dolly Eggers and Rosalee Eggers.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM (CDT) Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Gary Pancake. A visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 PM until funeral service time, 1:00 PM (CDT) at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10:00 AM (CDT) on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Spring Lake Cemetery in Aurora, Illinois.
