Shirley Martin Obituary

Shirley Elizabeth Martin, 76, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born September 5, 1948 in Gibson County to the late Clarence E. Brown and Gladys E. (Mounts) Brown and married Jackson Martin in February 2003. Shirley enjoyed being a homemaker and was known to her family as a “homebody”. She liked watching Wheel of Fortune and would often be caught drinking a Pepsi. Shirley was an avid hoot owl collector, but her most favorite pastime was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jackson Martin of Princeton; children, Dion Howell (Lisa) of Evansville, Denise Brock (Vince) of Oakland City, and Jackie Moore (Julie) of Patoka; step-child, Melissa Cleek (John) of Poseyville; 11 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and sisters, Suetta Dillon of Princeton and Sandra Shoultz of Francisco.


The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 16, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Pastor Alan Brock. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visiting hours will be from 4 until 7:00 PM Sunday the 15th at the funeral home.
