Stephanie Dawn Bingham, 49, of Haubstadt passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, April 21, 2026. She was born August 11, 1976 in Sierra Vista, AZ to James Leathers and Carolyn (Sisk) Alldredge. Stephanie graduated from Princeton Community High School in 1994. She continued her education at Wabash Valley College, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Social Work. Stephanie was a proud stay at home mom for a large portion of her children’s lives. As her boys got older, she took positions doing clerical work for the GCARC and later at the Medicaid office. Stephanie also helped out as a teacher’s aide for a time. She was a member of Patoka Presbyterian Church. Stephanie liked cooking for family and friends, playing with her kitty “Baby”, and listening to music. She loved the moments she got to spend having Sunday dinners and watching movies with her boys. Stephanie fought a 3-year battle with cancer and did so with determination and grace. She made history by being the first Indiana person to be treated with Lifileucel. This is the first FDA-approved, one-time TIL therapy for advanced, unresectable, or metastatic melanoma. It works by growing billions of a patient's own tumor-fighting immune cells (TILs) in a lab and re-infusing them to potentially providing long-term remission. Stephanie will always be remembered as being a joy to be around. She was loved so deeply and is already missed.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, JT Sisk, Erma (Don) Leathers; and step-father, Paul Alldredge.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Bingham and James “J.W.” Bingham; mother, Carolyn Alldredge; father, James Leathers; siblings, Kassi Holcomb, Kathy (Gary) Marsh, and Sydney (Matthew) Leathers; grandmother, Nora Sisk; grandparents to her children, Jo Ellen (Byron) Bingham; nieces, and nephews, Ava, Madi, Rylee, Zach, Jakob, Avery, Adian, and Samuel.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday, April 24, 2026 at Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor William Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held 12 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Chemo Buddies or The American Melanoma Foundation; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
