Terry Gene Bassett

Terry Gene Bassett, 76, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Olney, IL, June 19, 1949 to Arnal and Ethel Bassett. 

Terry graduated from Princeton High School in 1968.  He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, then went to work at Whirlpool in Evansville for 25 years. Terry married Marlene Meier Bassett, June 4, 1972. Terry had a classic hot rod car which he enjoyed, along with going to sock hops.

Terry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marlene Bassett; daughter, Maria Bassett; siblings-in- law, Ed Cross, Marlane and Ben Bryant, and David and Donna Meier; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and 2 brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026 at Albright Cemetery in Mackey where the Retired Military Veterans will conduct military rites. Interment will follow the services.
