Therne Noble Scott entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. Therne lived a full life and was able to celebrate his 100th birthday this past June with friends and family.
Therne was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on June 8, 1924 to Edna Opal Scott and Kern Noble Scott. The eldest of six children, he was especially close to his twin brother, Thurman. Throughout the years, Therne found fulfillment through his work at Potter and Brumfield, Bucyrus Erie, North Gibson School Corporation as a substitute custodian, Bob Beard Monument, and Colvin Funeral Home, in addition to running a farm.
Having a true servant’s heart, Therne always looked for an opportunity to lend a helping hand, thinking of others before himself. He was a member of the Tower Heights Church of God, for over 60 years, and recently attended New Life Church of the Nazarene in Princeton as well. He loved to sing, both in the church choir and whenever or wherever he felt like it. He also enjoyed watching sports, eating all things sweet, and being around his great-grandchildren.
Therne was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Hazel (Gambill) Scott, his son Rex Scott, and five siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis (Paul) Daniels of Fishers, Indiana; son, Dan (Brenda) Scott of Oakland City; and daughter, Donna Sisson of Princeton; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and brother, Roy Scott of Anderson, Indiana.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Deaconess Hospital and Linda White Hospice for their loving care and compassionate support for Therne and the entire family.
Funeral Services will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at New Life Church of the Nazarene in Princeton, IN with Jonathan Scott, Jack Gatson, and Donnie Truelock officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the church from 4 P.M to 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Tower Heights Church of God or New Life Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the church.
