Thurman "Bucky" McGuyer

Thurman “Bucky” McGuyer II, 58, of Hazleton, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born July 25, 1968 to the late Thurman Willis McGuyer and Rita Kay (Daffron) McGuyer and graduated Princeton Community High School. Bucky worked as a farm hand his whole life and loved the outdoors. He was a lot of fun, always making others laugh and being the life of the party. He enjoyed music, singing karaoke, and being the source of entertainment. Bucky was a good father and husband and loved his family, especially getting together for cookouts and cornhole games. His family was his entire life and he was there for everyone he loved.

Bucky married Mandy (Horner) McGuyer on May 23, 2015, celebrating 11 years together and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Dakota Horner (Gretchen Bare), Emma Kirby, Dianna Kirby (Kendrick Carver), and Parker Kirby; grandchildren, Zeke, Nomi, Lincoln, and Josie; siblings, Terry McGuyer (Donna), Lynn McGuyer, and LaTisha Johnson (Michael); a multitude of nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs, Atti and Jo Jo; grand-fur-babies, Benji, Shimmer, and Shine; and a cat, KK.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Corrisa McGuyer; and brothers, Leon and Steven McGuyer.

A "carry-in-style" celebration of Bucky’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Hazleton Community Center officiated by Bill Horner. A gathering of family and friends will follow until 4:00PM.
