Tom Shearer, 49, owner of The Palace Café, passed away unexpectedly December 18, 2023. He was born August 4, 1974, son of Greg and Beth (Brian) Shearer of St. Francisville, Illinois.
He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and the Middle East. Following military service he returned to St. Francisville, and in January 2015, became co-owner of The Palace Café on the Princeton square. Active in the Gibson County community, he was president of Downtown Princeton, Inc. and served the community through donations, hosting fundraisers and other community activities.
Surviving is his grandmother, Louise Shearer of Vincennes; parents; daughters, Cristine Sampson, Darian and Mara Shearer; brother, Ben Shearer of St. Francisville; sister, Angela Earls of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren; fiancée, Emily Mosier and her children, Jaeda Crews, Cabryn and Kane Mosier.
A public celebration of his life was held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 23rd, at The Palace Café.
