Tommy Thompson Obituary

Tommy W. Thompson, 74, of Oakland City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born August 19, 1950 in Evansville to the late Albert and Betty (Huebner) Thompson. He was a construction worker for Deig Brothers, a member of Local 561, and he enjoyed finishing concrete. Tommy loved the outdoors, fishing and deer hunting. As a music lover, he enjoyed playing guitar and drums. Years ago, he played softball and coached his kids’ and grandkids’ teams. Tommy liked to stay busy and was a worker at heart. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandkids and he loved the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Pamela “Pam” Thompson. They were together 53 years and were married July 7, 1973. He is also survived by his daughters, Dawn Russell (Jon) of Brooklyn, Sonia Shoultz (Jarrod) of Oakland City, and Amanda Vickers (Josh) of Oakland City; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Greg, Becky, and Tony.

Along with his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Vidal and siblings, Connie, Stevie, Denny, and Debbie.
