Troy A. Capehart, 44, of Princeton, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He was born on October 3, 1979 in Princeton to Danny and Vanada (Odom) Capehart and had resided here most of his lifetime, having lived in Allendale, IL for a few years. Troy graduated from PCHS Class of 1998 and served his country in the U. S. Army National Guard. He worked as a coal miner for over 10 years with Gibson County Coal, and was a member of Eagles Aerie #361 in Princeton.
Troy is survived by his daughter, Carly (Zack) Sutton of Mt. Carmel, IL, with 2 grandchildren on the way; his parents, Danny and Vanada Capehart of Princeton; three siblings, Randy (Sarah) Capehart of Evansville, Patty (Bruce) Vanoven and Matthew Capehart all of Princeton; 2 nieces and 1 nephew, Jenna (Ryan) Capehart, Marissa (Austin) Stetter and Micah Vanoven.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the First General Baptist Church, 2101 E. Broadway, Princeton, with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating. Visitation will be from 12 until 3 pm on Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Full Military Rites will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans of Gibson County.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice, if so desired. They also want to invite those who attend to feel free to wear their favorite band t-shirt or Cardinal’s apparel.
