Virginia R. “Jenny” Collins, 94, of Hazleton, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Washington, Indiana. She was a lifetime resident of Hazleton, a homemaker and a member of Hazleton United Methodist Church.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Bryce Collins, Jr. (Brenda) and Dwight Collins (Connie), both of Hazleton; five grandchildren, Misti Collins, Shane Collins and Leah Collins, all of Hazleton, Jennifer Kirby (Hank) of Fort Branch and Rachel Collins-Luebbehusen of Hazleton; six great grandchildren, Austin Collins of Hazleton, Jaret Van Patten of Owensboro, KY, Quincy Collins of Hazleton, Marissa, Roman & Victor Kirby of Fort Branch; two great great grandchildren, Vincent & Violet Van Patten of Owensboro, KY; and a brother, Gene Sullivan of Orlando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emery J. Gayer; mother, Martha (Potts) Gayer; and husband, Bryce Collins, Sr. in 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Polito and Chuck Longabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Hazleton Community Cemetery in Hazleton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 mandates, social distancing is required and masks are recommended.
