Virginia "Sue" (Beamon) Mounts

Virginia “Sue” Mounts, 73, of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born September 1, 1948 in Princeton to Emmet “Scotty” and Lois (James) Beamon. She had lived in Hazleton most of her life and had worked at Potter & Brumfield as a secretary in the Engineering Department. In 2012, she retired as clerk at the Treasurer’s office. She was a member of Hazleton Methodist Church, later attending Hazleton Community Church and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed helping her community by taking others to doctor appointments and shopping. She was an avid reader, loved watching court TV and loved her dog Tootie who she rescued.

Sue is survived by her stepdaughter, Amy Casavant (John); sisters, Nancy Jones (Roger) and Coetta Riker (Jeff); nephew, Eric Riker; and step grandchildren, Lily (Nolan) and Lauren Casavant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James “Jim” Arnold Mounts in 1995.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Sam Polito officiating. Interment will follow at Hazleton Community Cemetery in Hazleton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 26th at the funeral home.
