Vivian H. (Riley) Townsend

Vivian H. Townsend, born in Snake Run (near Providence Church) on Oct. 7, 1925 to the late Bertis and Faye Riley, passed away September 22, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, R. Dean Townsend in 2013.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Connie Nelson of Granger, IN; son, Bob (Judy) Townsend of Princeton; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Scalise, Brett (Kate) Nelson and Eric (Tom Hill) Townsend; four great grandchildren; sister, Marilou Stilwell; and brother, Jerry Riley.

She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Stephen Nelson; sisters, Ruth Shelton and Dorothy Thurgood and brother, Charles (Bud) Riley.

Vivian was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. She enjoyed an active life with family, friends, church, and gardening.

The family would like to send a special thanks to her five devoted care givers, the staff of River Oaks, and the staff of Heritage Hospice.

Per Vivian’s request, there will be no visitation. The family will hold a private graveside service at a special time.
