Wanda Armstrong Obituary

Wanda June Armstrong, 84, of Francisco, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Deaconess Gibson Hospital in Princeton. She was born November 22, 1939 to the late Floyd “Poss” Meier and Eva Mae (Alsman) Meier. After graduating Francisco High School, she worked for Hansen Manufacturing Company and then for Potter and Brumfield for over 30 years. She loved playing cards, being outdoors, gardening and mowing the grass. She liked getting out of the house with her brother-in-law, Leland to the Sullivan’s Grocery in Union. She also loved going to Broadway Players for all the plays with her good friend Peggy.  She looked forward to Friday's shopping with Donna.  Her family will miss her good cooking skills, unfiltered advice and the way she enjoyed spending time with them.    She was dearly loved and will be missed.

Wanda is survived by her children, Tamara Davis (Ben) of Francisco, Randall Davis of Francisco, and Kristi Vandivier (Wayne) of Francisco; grandchildren, Steve Davis (Jennifer), Katie Whittington (Tristan), Cole Davis, and Ivy Davis (Ryan Mason); special grand-dog, Rossi; one great-grandchild on the way; and Siblings, Robert Meier (Virginia), Julia Davidson (Jay), Marge Dyson, and Tom Meier (Beverly). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Delbert Davis; 2nd husband, Jerry Lynn Armstrong; and siblings, Mildred Braun, Richard Meier, and Frannie Landrus.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olympus officiated by Pastor Donnie Truelock. Burial will follow. There will be a private visitation for the family.
