William Earl York Jr.,70, of Princeton, IN passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. He was born August 29, 1954 in Princeton, IN to the late William E. York and Mary Louise (Luttrell) York. Bill owned and operated York roofing in earlier years. He was a truck driver for the teamsters until about 2000, then worked at Doug’s Auto for 15 years. Bill enjoyed working with his hands, going fishing, and working on cars. He also like to jump on his riding mower and tend to his and others yards. Most importantly, Bill loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Ed Helm and Steve Helm; grandchildren, Kyle Helm and infant Bob Helm II; sister, Lois Jean Quinn; and sister-in-law Gina York.
Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gayle Williams; children, Jillian (David) Morris, Jason (Carla) York, Bob Helm, Denny DeLong, and Russ DeLong; grandchildren, Brianna, Ethan, Jason Jr., Kara, Lindsey, Andrew, Clay, Jacob, Daisha, Kayla, DJ, Daisy, Evelyn, Stella, Carter, Kory, Briar, Hayley, Mike; great-grandchildren, Liam, Josie, Kyleigh, Raylend, Jaylee, Alauna, Kyleigh, Savannah, Halen, Eric, Ian, Sean, Colsen, Kaisynn, Wesley, and one on the way; siblings, Mark Allen York, Tony (Cheryl) York, Paula (Don) Ritchie, Sandra (Mike) Crase, Tina (Jorge) DeLeon; brothers-in-law, Scott Quinn, Steve (Wendy) Williams and Eric (Debra) Williams; mother-in-law, June Regenhold; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Tyler Beadles officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch, IN. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.
