Winfred “Winty” L. Greer, 68, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home. He was born July 9, 1953 in Princeton to the late Royce Greer and Betty (Hardiman) Taylor. He was a jack-of-many-trades and was good at his work in concrete, construction, and roofing. Winty was a member of the Catholic faith and will be dearly missed by many family and friends.
Winty is survived by his wife, Lisa (Hardiman) Greer of Princeton; children, Winfred “Duke” Greer of Princeton, Chrystal Greer (Marcus Vazquez) of Evansville, and Sara Greer (Scott Livermore) of Princeton; grandchildren, Felice Sohnle, Gavin Greer, Brennan Vazquez, Everson Vazquez, and Jaiden Harner; and siblings, Sherman Greer, Kenneth Greer, Johnny Greer, Olivia “Sissy” Chavis, Jody Greer, and Willie Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Royce Greer, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, November 26, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Floyd Edwards Officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the service hour, 12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
