Yvonne Lingo, 95, of Astor, FL passed away November 10, 2023. She was born October 30, 1928 in Oakland City, IN to the late Everet Hunt and Esta Mae (Ford) Hunt. Yvonne graduated from Oakland City High School, then went on to achieve her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, and finally her Master’s degree from University of Evansville. She taught high school in many places such as Central High School and Reitz High School in Evansville, IN. Yvonne was an airline stewardess for a short time that flew from New York to Dallas then to Mexico City. She even did some teaching in Mexico City for a while. Yvonne was an avid birder with a life list of over 750 birds. She traveled all over the world looking at birds. Some of her most memorable trips included Costa Rica and Antarctica.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bill Hunt and Gene Holderbaugh; and granddaughter, Brandi Miller.
She is survived by her children, Brad Lingo, John (Kim) Lingo, and Tyler Lingo; grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Lousignont, April (David) MacCuish, Michelle Lingo, and Jay Lingo; great-grandchildren, Malia, Evan, Elise, Wesley, Owen, Lindsey, Rebecca, Johnny, Jacob, Sam, and Vivian; and great-great-grandchildren, Lanie and David.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, 11 AM, November 16, 2023 at Shiloh Cemetery with Kirk Horstmeyer officiating.
