She was my favorite professor and always had words of encouragement when I needed them the most. She was amazing!!

Dr. Niemann made many fine contributions to the School of Dentistry through the discipline of oral pathology and the Dental Hygiene Program. What I always appreciated about Sybil was her practical and "down to earth" approach to teaching and to life. She had some of the best sayings that I ever heard; they always captured the essence of the moment and added levity to the conversation. She will long be remembered and sorely missed.

Some people live in our memories always no matter how far away our lives take us - Sybil certainly has been a part of our lives and her kindness and joy will continue.

My condolence to Dr. Niemann's family. I have enjoyed seeing the great care the family displayed for Dr. Niemann in Speedway on her face book account. It was heartwarming, to see the family love.
Dr. Niemann was a wonderful person, one of the best mentors that I experienced at Indiana University. I was at IU in 1987 and 1994 and I felt Dr. Niemann was the mentor and role model for the dental hygiene students. Sybil was a true educator that was kind, compassionate, and an inspiration for women in the work place.
She will be missed!

Brian and I remember so much fun going to Formula One races with Sybil and her friends from Arkansas. Sybil was so great to work with. I still have a Beagle stuff doll she gave me years ago. She bought it because she knew I had beagles and it made her think of me when she saw it. I will miss her. My prayers to her family.

She will always live in my heart as one of the finest dental instructors I received knowledge from. Every day applications as a hygienist with patients brings her to the minds of us who were graced by her endearing qualities. Her best sense of humor and love for dogs and flowers will live on in all of us. We were better people by knowing her.
