James W. Wheeler, 82, passed away on Monday July 7, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Petersburg. He attended the Mt. Tabor Church. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Dept. after 16 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. James was a life member of the VFW #1157 in Vincennes and the Columbia Masonic Lodge in Patoka.

He was born on May 30, 1926 in Pike County to Henry & Edna "Grace" Wheeler, both deceased. Also preceding him in death were his 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

James is survived by his wife; son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Kathy Wheeler of Petersburg; granddaughter, Allyssa Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday July 10, 2008 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Wayne Rowland officiating. Burial will be at the Hazleton Community Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12 noon until 2 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. VFW Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
